Though, Dubai is a hub of gold industry, if we talk about the consumption of gold in India, it is gradually becoming a major centre of outsourcing in this industry. Due to the rising demand of gold, the gold industry is expending steeply in Dubai as well as in India. Every year approximately 200 to 300 tones of gold come into India and after converting it completely into gold jewellery, it’s been exported back.

Gold’s consumption is 32 tones per annum in the whole Punjab and 29 tones per annum in Hariyana whereas it’s 3 tones per annum in Chandigarh alone.
