COCPs may affect a woman’s sexuality positively or negatively. Other side effects associated with low-dose COCPs are nausea, weight gain, fluid retention, breast tenderness, spotting between periods. These side effects usually subside in the first three months.

Leucorrhea (curd-like vaginal secretions), reduction in menstrual flow , breast tenderness, increase in breast size, and decrease in acne. Side effects associated with older high-dose COCPs include nausea, vomiting , increments in blood pressure and discoloration of the facial skin; these effects are not strongly associated with low-dose formulations. discharge or engorgement; rash, itching or jaundice; reduced tolerance to contact lenses; headache or migraine and nervousness have also been reported.

Having elucidated the numerous unwanted effects of the PILL the users should open their eyes to the threat the PILL poses. But in a patriarchal (social system) country like India where for most men using a condom appears bothersome, they do not prefer the SHEATH.
