Gossip continues and so the web woes of Bollywood stunners. As if Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor and Asin’s Net crisis weren’t enough, Sameera Reddy has become B- Town’s latest beauty to fall prey to Internet hooliganism.
The buzz goes that her profile and photographs have been doing the rounds of a matrimonial site for a few days now. Surprisingly, the news has caught a fire and fire is spreading the Bollywood industry.
It’s not surprising that Sameera was shocked to find it. Reports suggest that Sameera was apprised of this by a friend who told her that she has a matrimonial profile. Soon enough, the news was lapped up by several portals.
A website read: “ And now Sameera Reddy has found a novel way to find her Mr Perfect. There is news that she has entered details on a website. The details include information about her and what she expects from her guy.” “ Do you think that I need to go to a website to declare that I want to marry? Sameera counters.
“ Now I am wondering whether I should sue the company or send them a notice.” The actress’ profile has now been taken off the portal.
Of late, Bollywood actresses have been constantly facing problem from the cyber world. Sometime ago, Asin’s official e- mail ID was hacked with the hacker changing her mailbox’s password too. So, she stopped using mail IDs.
Similarly, Katrina, too, had to face problems because of an impersonator. He was shooting off mails to journalists and industry people on her behalf. But Kat quickly pointed out she never had any such mail ID after people started complaining to her.
Similarly, Saawariya girl Sonam Kapoor’s personal party pictures and other information, too, had made this way to public domain through her hacked Facebook account. The actress was informal by one of her friends about it.
Coming back to Sameera’s woes, the actress has reportedly instructed her publicist to explore legal options to stop her celeb status being used by any website.
Now, her friends have started asking when she is getting married.
Come to think of it, Sameera has all the reasons to feel angry. A site goes on to state that “ given the hot and raunchy sex appeal along with the looks, Sam ( as she is called by friends) must have got loads of proposals by now.” According to experts, Bollywood celebs are soft targets to create nuisance on the Net because famous names and glamorous faces attract attention and that’s why hackers try to hack their accounts or create a false website.
Celebrities are sought- after in cyberspace because glamorous names such as Katrina, Aishwarya Rai- Bachchan and Shahid Kapur have already been listed as most vulnerable Indian celebrities on the Net.
Sameera, a graduated from Sydenham College, made her debut in ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas’s music video, “Aahista Aahista”, when she was a graduate. The song was appreciated and her looks were noticed. She earned her ticket to Bollywood with a pivotal role in the Hindi feature film, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya in 2002.
She is famous for her role in Musafir. Sameera failed to give big blockbuster successes like Deepika Padukone who managed to make their mark in Bollywood, however small through their first few films. However luck favoured Sameera in the South Indian Tamil Cinema where she recently acted in a movie Vaaranam Aayiram directed by Gautham Menon which proved to be a hit.
Sameera’s acting and modest portrayal of a confident and down-to-earth girl Meghna has earned her rave reviews. She is believed to have lost weight for the film and done extensive make up to pull off a slim good looking modern girl. Her performance has been rated one of her best so far and the character included very sophisticated dialogue delivery with more importance given to facial expressions. There has been a definite rise in her career graph and Sameera is looking to face the brighter side of Filmdom. Her role in Musafir gave her a glamorous image – one that she has evidently tried to shed through her choices thereafter.
