Jaganmohini is a Telugu and Tamil recently released. It is remake of the famous B.Vittalacharya cult horror movie series of the same name. It stars the south Indian Actress Namitha and Telugu actor Raja along with Actress Meera chopra in the lead roles. This movie is directed by N.K.Vishwanathan. The movie is produced by H.Murali under the banner of Murali Cine Arts. The animated and graphic special effects in the movie are its USP. The old orginal version had Jayamalini enacting the role of Jagan mohini, in order to give better performance Namitha shed a lot of weight to give perfection to her role.

Namitha is certainly pleased with the underwater sequences exclusively shot in the Indian Ocean. Namitha said she was impressed by the director’s and producer’s total involvement in this project. She said “When I heard the full script, the character looked just tailor-made for me. But the grandeur part was really beyond my comprehension with talented director N.K. Viswanathan lending a riot of colour, aided by the graphics and sound effects.”
Jaganmohini
According to Namitha’s view, the glamour quotient had been a very little high to meet the mass audience expectations and perfectly fill in the shoes of Jayamalini. “The entire script is such that the mass audience will just really fall in love from the first frame itself. It was usually nice working with co-stars Raja and Meera chopra who were willing to really underplay their main characters in tune with the total script.”

Director N.K. Viswanathan said he is much aware of the expectation of the mass audience which has hit a feverish pitch with the Diwali day of the release. Mainly targeting at the mass audience, Mr.Vishwanathan said he has generally maximized the graphics and sound effects making best use of the available technology in the film circuit.
Music for this movie is by Ilayaraja and the great impact of the songs and dance is seen as a plus of the movie. The maestro even went on a trip to Hungary to get the special sound effects for the background score, showing the perfection and importance he gave for this movie.
Jagan Mohini: Story
The story is taken straight out of the famous Amar Chitra Katha series. In the early part of the movie, actress Namitha suddenly gets murdered for having fallen in love with a prince. Despite her sudden and unfortunate death, she usually seeks the love of her life, the prince, Raja. However, the prince also has a suitable beautiful bride, Meera chopra, within the royal family. In order to win Raja over, Namitha also must fight an evil sorcerer, who sets out to capture and arrest the prince for his human-sacrifice ritual that will bestow colossal powers upon him. That is Jaganmohini’s plot.
