Star Night  for a cause
Tollywood’s talented actors and actress got together at the Gachibowli stadium, Hyderabad on Saturday night for a Mega `Star Night’ to raise funds for the recent flood-hit victims of the state. The entertainment show was titled “Spandana”. The show was blessed with the presence of Tamil superstar Rajnikant and Samajwadi MP Jayapradha.

The show had the participation of the entire Telugu film industry but just a few big stars gave it a miss due to various personal reasons and commitment. Some stars were not in the city as they were busy in shooting in different locations outside the state. All most all the artist of the south Indian film world representing the top stars, comedians, movie directors and music directors cancelled their busy routine schedules and did a good rehearsals to make the show grand success and put wholesome entertainment in it.
The film celebrities who attendant the show were Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Mohan Babu Nagarjuna, Venkatesh,  Allu Arjun, Prakash Raj, Prabhu Deva and Ramcharan Tej, and heroines Anushka, Ileana, Genelia and Hansika. The leading music directors of the industry presented their hit songs with the singers rendering it live on stage.
The stage was also rocked by the dance performance by the young film stars, there were also skits and comedy performances too. There were skits, mimicry and several other programmes in the show. The programmes was well organised by Nandamuri Balakrishna.

The state government official, Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy was also present in the show.  The organisers were able to raise nearly Rs 3.5 crore by the show, in addition to the wholehearted donations made by the film fraternity towards the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
Even though the price tag was much high, the telugu movie fans filled the entire stadium full packed. The cost of the tickets for the “Spandana” show was fixed as Rs.1 lakh for most premium class.  The other two categories were donor passes which were fixed as Rs.10,000 and Rs.1,000 simultaneously.
The Andhra Pradesh state government allotted a flood relief fund of nearly Rs 1000 crores which is really insufficient due to the high extent of severe damage caused in various regions. The Top stars of Telugu movie world staged this show in order to collect funds which could be forwarded to the flood victims and rehabilitation of their lives.

The gesture shown by the Telugu movie world and its entire artist participation to make it a good success makes us feel better for a cause. The audience was satisfied by the show put up and their hand on experience to have the glimpses of their favorite stars. Things really went well because of the well organized function.
